Elixir of Magnetism

The elixir of a magnetism is created from a purple liquid and an infernal gem (a new item dropped by the demoness).  When drunk, if uncursed, it intimidates all unfriendly monsters currently attacking you but not yet fucking you. They will run away from you rather than attack for the duration of the effect. Whilst active, all other monsters who are not intimidated will notice you from one room away. The blessed version lasts a few rounds longer.

Good timing on drinking this might make it much more feasible to perform a full heist of the dungeon shop and/or use the woods altar without paying the witch. But if it turns out to be cursed, you might end up in a bit of trouble.

  1. ooo. Cool idea for a utility potion. Does this one have any guaranteed negative side effect? (as in it happens on un-cursed and blessed versions as well)

    1. Repels someone currently attacking you, but makes anyone one room away notice you. If the potion wears off by the turn after you're noticed, you're getting attacked.

I assume that repelling attackers gives you enough time to run away so they lose interest, but if you time it badly they'll just come back again and you've probably annoyed a lot more nearby monsters.

Smoke grenade essentially; pull pin, run away, and don't be standing there when the smoke clears.

    2. The negative effect is that for the entire 20 - 25 round duration, the player can aggro monsters in the next room over.

    3. But if you aggro them while the potion is up, won't they enter the room, try to attack you and be immediately intimidated? I suppose I'm just not clear on what 'intimidated' means; will they run away to the next room, be one room away, get aggro'd, come back, get intimidated etc? I'm currently imagining a game of monster ping-pong that turns into a Brittish gangbang when the potion wears off (mostly because it's an amusing visual).

    4. No, the intimidation only occurs in the instant that you drink the elixir, to all applicable monsters in your location.

    5. Ah right then. Makes more sense now. Looking forward to the next release. Hope the new job is going well.

  2. What happens if you enter the royal chamber?

    1. I'd hazard a guess to say that it would make them lose interest but you'd have to stay in there until the potion wore off.

In my experience, if someone is chasing you and they're with you right until the throne room (i.e. outside the royal chambers), they'll lose interest, but as soon as you leave they'll become hostile again (assuming they don't wander off while you wait/sleep).
