There are two Interpreters that I would suggest for different reasons. The first is Gargoyle - this is lightweight and fast, but does not support center-aligning images which may make examining oneself look even more weird than it already does.
If you, like me, would prefer image centering to work, I suggest using Windows Glulxe (NB this is less important now that side images are working well).
NB if using Gargoyle, you should consider setting the automatic continue to "ALWAYS" in order to prevent you being able to continue if you press any button except "enter" when asked to press "enter" to continue.
