Official Trap Quest Wiki

Hey there, so I've managed to get enough done of the wiki that I am now ready to let you guys start to expand it if you want.

http://trapquest.wikispaces.com/

The thing that might be quite surprising is just how much detail I'm putting into the wiki, and that's because I want the more hardcore players to have an information bank that they can use to start to inform their playstyle; I want to know quite how easy the game is if you know what you're doing.  A lot of the details you guys won't know, so that's fine, just put question marks or something in for now and I'll get round to filling in the blanks and correcting things.

When creating a new page, please use a template if appropriate!  Also please note that I'm writing the wiki from the perspective of my release 6 code, so if the wiki says something that you know isn't true, that's probably why.

I'll try to approve people who request membership as quickly as possible.

Love from Aika

  1. Yays. I can finally see the differences between bras/heels. Much excitement.

...Now to wait for the update to which the wiki assumes the version is at.

  2. Don't really see any place to leave bug reports, so I'm going to leave this here, but one of the things I've noticed during my multiple playthroughs is that it is possible to get the minotaur stuck in a loop where he won't attack the player. He simply "looks for his next target." It's most easily triggered by wearing the princess outfit, getting a guard to follow you, and then attacking the minotaur. The minotaur will simply "look for its next target," never attacking the attacking the player or the attacking guard. Naturally you have to keep attacking the minotaur the whole time or the minotaur will get unstuck, but it's an easy way to take him out so long as your knees don't buckle first. You can get this behavior to happen under any circumstance where some other creature is in the room with you (I've even seen it when said other creature was attacking me rather than the minotaur), but it's easiest to trigger using the effect the princess outfit has on the guards.

    1. This is a known bug with Barbara or with any monsters you've purloined from the woods. But seems to be working fine with the princess outfit. Can you reproduce that?

  3. I've seen that too, although I thought it was a glitch because I spawned the minotaur and a faerie in the bedroom while pregnant (just testing how long it would take the faerie to kill the minotaur). Minotaur never attached and despite being constantly attacked by the fairy, it never died. I assumed it was just because I was in the bedroom and it kept making it lose interest.

  4. Wow. Just... wow.

That's a marvelous feat. Thanks for creating it.

  5. I am enjoying the new wiki very much. I can't wait on more specific details for the altar (specifically exact details on how it's cool down works)

I wonder if we will see many other leadership states (like the princess outfit with guards). Maybe one day someone will take down the minotaur with a bunch of wenches :P

    1. As far as I can remember we didn't get exact numbers/formulas from aika yet, but somewhere in the forum thread (it's buried DEEP, don't bother) players figured out that it takes (at most I assume) 50 "turns" (If you find it at 500$ in the beginning it should always work when trying with 450$ again).
It usually works out quite nicely for me. I search for the altar first thing when playing (Thanks to rooms having requirements you can find it faster with experience), uncurse one item, explore the rest of the dungeon and can uncurse another item before going above ground

  6. You mention the chastity belt in the wiki. Is it working in the current release or is that a "spoiler" towards release 6?

I have never encountered it in my maid run.

  7. Once release 6 is out, will the wiki have explanations and pictures of all the in-game items, or will that still be left out for people to discover?

    1. I'm not the supervisor of the wiki but I'd say that we shouldn't post pictures on the wiki.
Reason for that is because I very much enjoyed "exploring" the pictures while playing myself.
Maybe some "sample" pictures (how the examine "page" looks for example) are okay, though.
Explanations of all kinds are slowly being added to the wiki, though.
Aika specificially stated that this wiki is (also) intended to be used by hardcore players to devise specific strategies for the game.

  8. Will there ever be pictures to show our hips stat? (like face, chest and belly)

btw thanks to Yorekani for the above help.

    1. Yes there will but right now I only have plans for ones that show female sex organs so will be defaulted to "off" for males.

  9. Hi!
Can you make it so that we can just type "question NPC" rather than the cumbersome two-step process of "talk NPC" -> "question"?

    1. I'm not the one programming this game but my guess is that it's programmed this way because you can't "drink" an NPC. But you can ask the NPC for a drink. I'm not sure how much effort it would take to either change the phrase to something other than "drink" (while not being too hard to guess) or to make NPCs "drinkable". (Problem is, that only some NPCs can be offered/asked for drinks... I think)

    2. That's a good idea and I'll add it to the TODO list.

If anyone has any other suggestions on things that they always try and type but that the game doesn't recognise, please let me know.

    3. Talking about 'drink NPC', would it be interesting for sexually promiscuous players to offer a bj/cunni to NPCs when asking for a drink while kneeling ? Could also trigger more easily with bukkake fetish...

Maybe it's already in, never actually tried.

    4. Asking guards and demonesses for a drink under certain conditions will trigger something similar, yes. Asking gladiators and fairies for drinks also can have unintended effects.

  10. The wiki says the undo and purloin commands were planned on being 'locked'. Does that mean for donators as well? Cause I kinda like using them when I want to be in specific scenarios or look a certain way.

    1. Donators get to use undo; purloin might still be locked no clue. Considering purloin can break the game in various ways...

    2. Since I wrote that article I'll just clarify once more.
The category is "debug commands". Meaning these commands aren't meant for actual gameplay. Instead they should be used for bugtesting/finding/replicating.
Unfortunately this means that at least "undo" and "purloin" are very clearly game-breaking if used in a "normal" playthrough.
With "undo" there is a lot of drama in the forum thread on tfgamessite. I don't know aikas plans about "purloin" but I'm not even sure if it was intended to be included in the "public" version in the first place. Most likely it won't stay, though.

    3. Purloin, showme, etc. won't be available in future releases as I'm going to stop releasing the game in testing mode. Undo prevention is a separate option and is the thing which donators will get.

  11. I appreciate the explanations of the game mechanics in the wiki. It's not something I ever really found myself wanting, but certainly if the information's available I'll want to know it, at least if the game's interesting enough. Naturally that applies to this case.

And now I'm off to study numbers in a porn game. I regret nothing.

  13. You mention a cowgirl outfit once on the wiki under Strength and never talk about it again. How do you get this outfit? I figure it has to do with the milking bench, but I haven't yet been able to find the combination of variables that causes it to appear. Or is it just a random drop?

  14. Man I need to stop sneaking peeks at the Wiki. It just keeps reminding me that it isn't February yet.
