I'm sure most of you will have noticed that in general the descriptions of events in trap quest are brief and to the point. This is a mixture of me not wanting to dedicate too much time to event depth when I could be increasing the variety, and also because I'm not very good at it. Thus if any fans would like to have a go at writing better versions of some of their favourite (or least favourite) scenes then I would by all means consider replacing the current text in the game and give you credit on the blog and in the credits in the help menu. "Scenes" should in general be only 1 - 4 short paragraphs at most (this is a roguelike after all) but further depth can be attained by having varied text of what happens or how the player feels about the situation depending on whether the player is a bimbo yet or a hundred other tracked variables.
In my own opinion the scenes in most desperate need of more variety and quality are:
- All the different birth scenes
- Masturbation
- Ongoing sex messages, currently limited to things like "The (NPC) is still fucking your (orifice)!"
On a similar vein, there are some images that lots of people agree are in need of changing and if anyone has any superior images they should send them to me. Feel free to send me any and all suggestions but most notably:
Male player starting face. Needs to be:
- Not quite as feminine as bailey jay but
- Still relatively androgynous
- Caucasian
- Black hair
- Preferably stereotypically attractive
- Bonus points for also being able to provide a version with some light feminine makeup

- As few scars, stretch marks and other blemishes as possible
- Bonus points for no clothing visible
Royal Guard:
- Lots of flexibility here, just as realistic and manly as possible

- Caucasian
- Rear view
- Asshole visible
- Penis visible
- As little ass hair, leg hair and ball hair as possible in that priority order
- No clothing visible
The more of this stuff I get from you guys the less time I spend finding them myself and the more time I spend actually coding! :)

Those would certainly be good if it was for ones that didn't fill you with air. Then you could gauge if you really wanted to win or not based on what you saw.

DeleteAs for the descriptions, I'd think having a a 1-4 paragraph initial scene for say, the Guard fucking you in your mouth, ass or pussy, then any follow-up scenes are 1-5 sentences at most, and have a larger amount of variation. With that said, I wouldn't mind seeing longer mouth-fucking scenes, as in the number of turns it occurs over, not description length. "The Guard walk around to your face sticks it in and comes almost immediately" is massively disappointing
i would like that to be in the options really, i like the descriptions as they are now, cause i end up just starting new games a lot to play around with "speedrunning" to classes, failing part way, and trying again, and those "paragraphs for first times" would significantly hinder that.
DeleteI've always really liked the tentacle monster rape scene. I would love if every scene in the game can have that level of depth and detail, but as for "the NPC is still having their way with you," there's not actually a lot happening there, and I think detailed scenes to go with that sort of stuff might imply something that isn't true. I.e. if in a royal guard scene he is described as varying his speed, or pulling your hairs, player might get the idea that those things actually make a difference.

I'd suggest adding a option into the game similar to the display images option if more agree with you, though it'd take a lot of revision of code.

Perhaps some kind of hint command?
Use "place [x] on altar", where [x] can be an item to uncurse or bless, or the word "me" to bless yourself.

Does anyone know how to get royal slave? Milk harness keeps triggering instead.

DeleteKeep your accidental milk leaks even after you get the harness - the key item for the royal slave is the headgear (circlet) which can spawn even with the harness on. Then uncurse-remove the harness and deal with your boobs, to prevent another harness from spawning while you wait for the basque to pop up.

would it be possible to enable the game to read image files from a folder? that way people could create a personalized "image pack." because in spite of how much i love this game, it is so immersion breaking to keep thinking "that can't be me, I'm not Caucasian."

DeleteBut this might be exactly what above anon referred to, but i just used blorb***** to unpack the .gblorb file into a folder giving me a story.ulx (the game) and image files, whenever there is an image that i severely dislike i just replace it and hit 'x me' or something to update ingame and the images get replaced/updated -_-

Don't forget about the altar in the dungeon. It can cut you hair by half each time it randomly chooses to cut your hair I think.

I'm sure you don't need any more suggestions about the UI right now but I always thought it was odd that the images on the right always shows you naked, even more so now that we have heels and stockings on the right. Why don't (or can't) we choose an option to have the images display the outermost layer of clothes we have on for the head/torso/bottom?
ReplyDeleteI actually know the reason though, it's a tie between no one donated for it yet and it might be more difficult to program than I'd think, especially since clothing layers might be buggy (remember corset's ripping destroying outer tops? hehe)
