Salves are products of alchemy that you apply to specific body parts. They remain applied until washed off by you entering a body of water, or by fainting.
The salve of buoyancy is created from a clear liquid and the pink rubber drop from the sex doll. The salve can be applied to your breast and your butt at the moment, and probably your belly as well when I get round to coding it. Once applied, that part of your body will become lighter (but not change in size). If inflation fetish is enabled, it is possible for a body part to become lighter than air through this method. A blessed salve makes the area extra light, and a cursed salve instead makes the body part heavier.
The BUC of a salve cannot be changed once it has been applied - you are stuck like that until you wash it off. A body part must be exposed for you to apply a salve to it. G-strings and thongs count as exposing your butt cheeks.
EDIT: Today I improved the code to allow for your belly to be a valid working target for salves as well.
Can traps wash the salve off?(i.e. the bukkake hose and the deluge traps)

If you wear a piece of clothing over a salve-coated area, do you lose the effects, and if you don't, do you lose the effects when you remove said clothing?
If you have liquid dripping off your butt/belly/breasts, could that potentially remove the salve?
Oh, and if you vomit up semen because you don't know the deepthroat skill, can you potentially lose the effects of an elixir or potion early?

Trap that applies salves to body parts.
Maybe some monsters can apply salves, too. Salves of chest gain, applied by gladiators, for example.
Not going to lie, super excited about the up-coming release. I really like where the game is going. Plus all these added features, I'll be playing and then replaying for a while for sure.

Alas, such are the woes of getting yourself covered in cursed items. Don't expect handouts from Nintendolls, they want you to lose! In fact they consider the altar a very generous feature, as once you know how it works it's a 100% beneficial resource.
